What we collect

• Details you give us: first name, email address, country, postcode, year of birth and (optionally) gender.
• Records of your consent: the wording you agreed to, the date and time, your IP address and browser details.
• How you reached us: the website or job board that referred you and its click reference.
• Email activity: whether you open our emails and click links, used to keep our list healthy and relevant.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To email you research opportunities and partner offers — based on your consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); PECR reg. 22; Canada's CASL; US CAN-SPAM).
• To match you with suitable studies using your country, postcode, age and gender — based on your consent.
• To keep records proving consent and to prevent fraud — based on our legitimate interests and legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or pass your details to research companies. When you click an opportunity in our emails, you go to that company's own site and join under its own privacy policy. We use service providers to run our service: Cloudflare (website and database hosting), Amazon Web Services (email delivery) and our email list software host. Some of these process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. We may share referral references (not your contact details) with partners and job boards to track which referrals led to sign-ups.

How long we keep it

While you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list so we never email you again, and keep consent records for 6 years in case of a complaint or audit. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days.

Your rights

You can withdraw consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@bdfocusgroups.com. UK residents can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). California residents have rights under the CCPA, including to know and delete; we do not sell personal information as defined there. Canadian residents may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Age

Our service is only for people aged 18 or over.

Cookies

We use only what's needed for the site to work (for example, remembering the referral reference during your visit). We don't use advertising cookies.
